What are you using as a skimmer stand? I need to raise mine up several inches and am currently considering my options.

Most people use egg crate and assemble a box using egg crate and zip ties.

No. MANY MANY hobbyists use egg crate

i'm using egg crate ,pvc pipe and zip ties, have been for years and no issues at all

Both black and white egg crate are used for everything from stands, dividers, tank covers, and holding frags. Good luck!

I used a 4" pvc coupler and trimmed it down height wise to raise my skimmer to the level I wanted it at.

Im using it without the adjustable feet attached. It gets me about 1/2" lower than the lowest setting. Plus you can fit stuff under it too!

I have a black milk crate from HD in my sump. I don't think it has leached anything in the last 3 yrs...
