Skimmer troubles

Tank is new I used tap water to fill it. It is a fish only system not sure why my skimmer is making so much foam more than I've ever had on any other tank

What skimmer is that? My first thought it is sitting in too much water. Raise it up until it stops overflowing. Then use the standpipe to fine tune it.

It's a vertex omega 150 it's in 7.5 inches of water. I had the skimmer in my old tank and never had a foaming issue
