hi guys

since 2 years i run my reef tank with a Reef Octopus NW skimmer
this skimmer do his job , but the size of this skimmer is too big , almost take 50% of my sump size , and biggest problem is the noise. overall quality is quite low

i plan to change for a NYOS Quantum 120 or VERTEX Omega 130 / 150

for the nyos skimmer i like the pump inside the skimmer

i would like your feedback this will help me choose

thanks

Have you considered a Skimz SM 163? I just swapped out my Vertex Omega 150 for one and it does a great job on my 105 g. I found the Omega to be very hard to keep adjusted. It's extremely well made, but IMO, it's overpowered. The Skimz is very easy to adjust with its DC pump. It's also very quiet and the pump is inside the skimmer.

hi thanks for your reply , i just looked for Skimz SM 163 but look like its not yet available in europe. the price is not that good , for your experience it does a better job than the vertex one ?
