I'd also be concerned over the fact that whatever comes out of my skimmer normally smells like liquified putrid corpses. Like if I want the room to myself, just clean the skimmer and my wife won't enter for 4 hours![]()

I should probably look into why that's happening when I have time. It's likely a combination of overfeeding and skimming too slow. More waste and more sit time in the cup could be leading to everything festering in there. I'm cleaning the cup about once every 3-4 days and the color is pretty dark!I know lots of folks find that to be the case, but in 20 years my skimmate never smelled bad. it smelled like the ocean.![]()
