BTW I removed a bag full of silicone from the inside of the sump tank that the previous owner had applied, I think with a butter knife. In places it came out an inch from the corners of the tank and was at least 1/4" thick. I'm not sure why he put it there because after removal I filled the tank, just to be sure, and Ta Da, no leaks. I don't know if he bought half a dozen tubes of this stuff and only used 1 to put in the baffles and decided that since he had it he'd use it, but I've never seen this much silicone used on anything. Oh well.
