So when power goes out and then cones back on, the water level in sump is high and the skimmer overflows. Last night the power flashed off, poured half full skimmer cup back in tank. I’ve got waterbox tank/sump is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Could get a smart plug that automatically defaults to off when power goes off. Or you could drill a hole up high in collection cup with a hose that goes to reservoir

Get a delay timer to plug your skimmer into.

I have no experience with it but I believe the AutoAqua smart skimmer security uses a optic to turn off the skimmer when your cup is full and also has a built in delay timer.

Or build one, just like diy ato.

Float switch, relay, some wires and power outlet.... 10min of work

Or do like lifereef does and route your air inlet hose into your collection cup so it will stop producing bubbles once it reaches a certain height. It also helps in keeping the venturi clean since it's drawing in moisture.
