Hi all, I have a bubble Magnus curve 5 that has been running in my sump for about a year now and out of nowhere it has randomly started creating a ton of micro bubbles. So I decided to give it a wash and cleaned out the pump but it’s still creating a TON of micro bubbles… I’m not sure what else could be the problem.

I just took this video and as you can see a lot of micro bubbles are coming out the back and being sucked in from the front… this is the first time this happens. I have not changed anything

I've taken a closer look at your vid....looks like it's coming near the venturi

Almost like it's coming out from the intake or the air tube

Looking at the air tube. It looks fine. I have not changed anything

I agree. You may want to replace the tubing and see if it stops.

Is that a Bubble Magus Curve skimmer? If so, I had the same thing happened to me. The issue came down to how that clear perforated cup inside is assembled. Make sure the outlet of the pump into that mixing cup (not sure what you'd call it) gets the section that isn't perforated.

try adjusting how much air goes into the skimmer using a air valve. You probably have too much air and not enough water going in

Also video is hard to tell where the water line is. Looks to be completely submerged. How high is your sumps water line in that chamber?

here’s another video

There is a video that BRS did about tuning in your skimmer so that the bubbles are bigger and not so fine. i'll see if i can find a link

I have it’s the same thing this just happened randomly

If it was the water then this wouldn’t randomly be happening. It has been running for a year perfect fine.

BRS video tuning your skimmer

Thank you. But the skimmer has been running for a year. It was tuned extremely well before this randomly happened
Ok let me move it. But this skimmer has not been touched in months. It’s kinda random that that’s the issue

i have the same skimmer. I had to raise the skimmer up an inch in the sump and slightly restrict the air flow into the skimmer. this made for bigger bubbles and solved the issue

Check the water inlet for anything clogging it, maybe some debris got in there

If you have the bubble plate offset incorrectly you'll get micro bubbles.
