Skimmer works for about 2 weeks the stops producing.

Have a nuvo fusion 40.
Running an aquamaxx hob skimmet.

I will disasemble and clean the skimmer and it shoots tons of bubbles and produces skimmate but within a week or 2 it stops making bubbles witch stops skimmate production.

I dont believe its because there is nothing left to skim, i am running biopellets so there should be a bunch of bacteria from that to pull out. I feed a bit more then I probably should. And have 5 fish. So decent bioload.

I honestly have hated the skimmer from day 1 as it is ugly and hangs above the back of my tank.

If theres a better skimmer someone can suggest, prefferably that would fit in the skimmer chamber rather then hang on back.

Or just how I can fix this thing that would be great!

I'm not familiar with your skimmer, but it is pretty common for the venturi to become clogged with salt creep on many skimmers. I keep a thin zip tie on my skimmer lid so that I can easily clean mine out.

I would recommend taking close note of the pump speed the best you can. It could be either a venturi issue as stated by Breadman, but you may also discover the pump is slowing down. This could be the result of the impeller getting gummed up from the bacteria from the carbon dosing. Knowing/determining if its an air problem or a pump speed problem would help you determine how to fix it.
