I have a question, Im looking at purchasing a new skimmer for my tank(s), but I also have an upgrade in mind. I now have a 75 with a 30 low flow "frag tank" and a 25g sump. I want to upgrade to a 120main with that 75 as a sump and keep the 30 display, might do a dual 30g breeder frag tank. So i definately need a 220g+ rated skimmer. Seeing as this is a big expense im looking for long term quality and durability.

So far im looking at either a Bubble Magus nac 77, or the new contender Cad light TIA1220, not like i need to save on space, Or my company of prefernce, Reef-Octopus with their new DC line :P The DC-200 would look amazing in my sump. [h=1]The R-O is the one im leaning to, but was looking for a second opinion. Doesnt have to be one mentioned. Must be good for ~250g+/-[/h]
Any thoughts?
Cheers

IMO I like the Deltec line of skimmers. But if I could only give you one piece of advice from my own experience is that go with a quality name and go big as your wallet will allow.

The RO DC line looks awesome, but pricey! I run an SRO 3000-int on my 190 TWV system, and it's a beast!

Yeah, I wanna get one of them new cool toys and im not so price concient. The size of skimmer is about the same price across anyways(new) and i dont mind paying a few extra $$ for the quality. I just wanna make sure i get the right one the first time as i dont have a fortune too keep re-spending on junk equipment, cause we all know that really sux ___________ :P

Aquatics SC1 looks like a cadlight or buble mag nac. but nice skimmer. I did see a really nice sleek black one i liked. In the end the skimmers are all built the same and on the "same concept" But what makes one "Better" than the next???

Definately looking for INSUMP models as they are much more effective than HOB models.

Thanks Guys :P

I couldnt edit, But i think i forgot to mention im running a BH-1000 HOB currently for my ~105g of water volume. So its definately due for an upgrade :P

feivel, The CS1 and CS2 is the same as the bubble mag. but with the better pump. or if you haven't checked out the same skimmer but a DIY build from AVAST Marine. either way you won't be unhappy. my dad has the CS1 on his 40 breeder, with 20l sump. that thing pulls some nasty gunk every week when he cleans it out.
Dad said some one on here ( mojo ) or something like that, is the one that recommended it to him, and has been pleased with it since... approx 5-6 months now.

I run a Reef Octopus SRO-2000 int, and its just an awesome piece of equipment! Skims like nobody's business.

I've heard nothing but good things about the sro skimmers. But I bought a bm, at a great price used. That said, are you going to run a large fuge? If you do, and it has macroalgea, your skimmer needs will be minimal.
