Im looking for a good skimmer rated for 200 gallons (brands and prices) Any help is appreciated Thanks in advance!
 
Cant go wrong with Reef Octopus or Aquamaxx.

When it asks for size when buying, what is the difference in co1,2&3? This is not for me... It's a gift for my fiance.

So I guess really do I just buy the one he's been looking at? How good is it and could he do better because he's cheap (lol)

Good chart. The skimmer needs to be sized for the system volume. Skimmer is important in a reef tank, you want to get a quality skimmer. I dont know about the Avast skimmer, but they have good equipment I have in use now. That Aquamaxx is a beast, I love it. It is kinda pricey and hard to get.
 
If he's cheap like me then he may want to check out the SCA-302. I'm running the SCA-301 on my 40B. It cost me $89.00 delivered. It's quiet and works wonderfully! Totally proves a great skimmer doesn't have to be expensive :)

I dont understand the chart^^

He needs the skimmer to be rated for 200g so do I get the co1,2 or 3?
 
They have been on back order for a century , I was planning on one - phoned up every dealer that sells them and they just laughed - JNS is basically the same skimmer - I went with a RLSS r8-u because of the demon amount of air it intakes - You can pick up a space saver with the pump inside the body for 439 - Mine gets delivered tomoz - cant wait, sold a super reef octopus 5000ext to buy this thing
 
I sold my reef octopus to HVAC guy who just posted earlier - small world lol, the reason I sold it was it was just too big for my system, I was running it on a 200 g system just too much power but the RLSS internal they say pulls the same as the sro 5000
 
After having a super reef octopus 3000 xp int. On my 180 and now the sca-302 on my 66... I don't see how the sca can be rated for the size it is. It's perfect for my 80 gallins...
