My skimmer has been working great for about 6 months. Yesterday it has started filling up with water and bubbling out the top. Every time I empty and just fills it immediately back up. What is going on?

Something in the water is causing it to over react. Open the valve all the way and keep it all the way open until it stops. If it's still doing it try doing a WC. When mine does it on freak occasions I hook a hose to drain on my cup, put the hose in a 5g bucket and just let it overreact with the valve all the way open. Usually about 5 gallons later the skimmer stops over reacting and I go about my day. As this is happening I turn off the ATO and refill the sump with a fresh batch of SW so that the return pump doesn't run dry.

Check your Veturi it maybe becoming clogged and as that happens your water level will rise inside the skimmer.

OK I have one on the shelf, not the easiest skimmer to tune. Venturi is what is attached to the pump in take. Remove it or take the whole pump and clean it, best to soak in Vinegar and water, look at the Venturi the hole can become clogged with salt and Cal. build up so soak and a small screwdriver to pick it away should do the job, but like I said you may as well give the pump a clean also.
