Skimmer

Hi. Still trying to get our skimmer set up. Is this normal? It is really loud.

Looks like some kind of HOB. Looks like a lot of air is getting picked up by the return pump, but hard to say without knowing the skimmer type.

You should not have bubbles in the tank... they should all stay in the skimmer chamber. If this does not go away after the initial break-in period, then there is a problem.

This is the skimmer it is. We were told it was a good one when we bought it. It is not broke in though.

It should not produce that many bubbles in the tank. Regardless if it’s broke in or not. When a skimmer is broken in it will start to produce better skimmate in the collection cup. But doesn’t change the bubbles. I would say something is set up wrong. Hard to see from that one photo.
