Skimmer

Hello. I am having low PH and high Nitrate problems. It now seems to all come down to my skimmer. Maybe not big enough? I have a 55 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump, with a bubble magus skimmer. I want to upgrade to a 125 gallon, but not just yet. What is the best skimmer to get? Red Sea, Bubble Magus etc? Im still pretty new at reefing but learning alot. Thank you for your input.

What about a refugium with a strong light? I'd argue that this would be more effective at solving your issues. If not, I really like the red sea skimmers
