Anyone know a good skimmer for me to put on a tank with 19.5 gallons total volume? I would love to know a functional one, and would love to even find a used one on the cheap

here is the solution, put the freshwater fish in the 14 gallon, then put the reef in the 55, and hang a aqua c remora or a tunze on the back of it!
but really, it depends on what you have to work with, you cant really put it in the tank or on the back of the tank, so can you hang one off your refugium? or put one in the refugium? tunze are about the only quality skimmers id put for such a small tank. you have more options if you get bigger, and easier to find used skimmers to, I have a fission nano skimmer, but its more neat looking than practical

i c... but yes i would hang it off of my refugium, I notice seaclones hanging around everywhere, and with the horror stories I thought they might be good enough for my small water quantity

yeah I suppose ill go with a tunze, but with what seems to be a nano craze on the markets, i'll prolly have to go new
this is going sound crazy, but i have the cheap $40 redsea skimmer from petco (newbie buy) and it can will pull some foam, it works better than my friends seaclone for shure. The trick to a skimmer is alot of tinny bubbles
Comparing a prizm to a sea clone is lilke comparing a kia to a deawoo. Both are better than not running a skimmer at all, but neither are great skimmers.
Don't take that the wrong way just saying if you haven't seen alot of other skimmers on the market those aren't even middle of the line models.
Get a ORCA 250 i'll help you plumb it in!

You know, if i happened to come across one, id totally do it (even though it would probably cycle my tank 1000 times per hour
the seaclone down fall id that it cant get enough air bubbles, i put a wooden air difuser in the bottom of my frinds and it really worked after that

air diffusers do a good job, but they have such a short lifespan and they are too variable. my current skimmer uses only a wood airstone, and i hate it
