Hey all. I am at the beginning stages of my build .my DT will be a 180rr marine land . With an eshopps sump with about 40 gallons of total volume. I plan to add a 40 breeder down the road for a frag tank in my fish room. That puts me to about 260 total gallons. I am so confused as to which is the best route. External vs internal . Brs' light to Heavy bio load calculation puts a whole new level to the confusion. My thoughts initially were and externally driven reef octopus plumbed from my return pump . Now I'm leaning towards an in sump . I have heard so many mixed reviews. So fire away reefers, I have no size constraints. My only constraint is monetary . I know it is an essential tool for dissolved solids, but I can't stomach paying 800 bucks for one. I'm comfortable around 450-550. Thanks in advance for any advice.
