Hey all I got a used skimmer with the sump tank I bought. I have never used a skimmer. I have a basic understanding that it combines air and water to bubble up and foam out the crap at the top.
I completely cleaned it and bought a new air hose for it.
Any tips on how to set it up in the snow tank... like height in tank, height of water inside, do I need to do something to it before adding it in the tank, or anything else I should understand?
Thanks guys

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE...
ITS THE BUBBLE MAGUS NAC 3
I CURRENTLY DONT HAVE A PIC OF IT BUT HERE IS THE STOCK PHOTO OF IT AND MINE HAS A DIFFERENT PIECE WHERE THE WATER AND BUBBLES FLOW THROUGH...

do you know what kind of skimmer it is? or can you post a picture of it? each skimmer is different. some can run in shallow water and some can run better in deeper.

Try running it in about 8-10 inches of water. As far as the bubble height, you'll have to play with the flow a little bit. When the tank is new it probably wont skim as much or right away.
I have the bubbles break right at the neck line where the collection cup meets the body.

Hopfully someone with the exact same skimmer can chime in as well :)

You said in show tank, i assume you mean in the sump however? And 8 to 10 inches is the norm. Its a good start as stated above
