Does anyone else's skimmer skim wetter at night?

At my current setting, I get little skimmate during the day, but maybe 1/4 - 1/2" in the cup at night.

I read it could be line voltage increases at night might cause the motor to spin faster, but I wouldn't think it could make that much of a difference.

It's a Reef Octopus 110 - which I've been pretty happy with. It's stable other than these diurnal swings.

My skimmate picks up during the night, but I feed during the evening.
When a skimmer does it job, it's skimmate should idle back down until more DOC is added to the reefs water column.

If you have powerheads in your tank, do you run them at a lower flow rate at night? That could also be the issue if the overall flow rate through the system is less at one point vs another.
