Hello all, was wondering if anyone has a Skimz with the controller on it. I have hunted for video's , also contacted Skimz, but didn't get the answer I was looking for. What I am wondering is, how to set it, right now it reads P025, that number bounces around a bit, I tried turning it up, nothing happened. So if you have used or are using this or a Skimz skimmer & could help me out, that would be awesome.

Thanks

Sounds like a bad controller unit for the pump. For shiggles and gicks try pressing the feed mode button. If after that there is no change try unplugging the DC power cord from the controller and wait 10 seconds or so and reinserting the power cord. If after that there is no change, I think your controller module is bad. Might be time to get a replacement control unit if they are available.

Hey P-Dub, the feed mode shut the skimmer down, like it should. When I push the up arrow, it is set at F20, or if I push the down arrow, it does go down. Maybe I didn't word my question right?
What I am wondering is " What do those different modes mean, like the P & the F ??

Thanks

Skimz seems to have a new pump/controller out every 6-12 months so it is hard to tell. I assume that you have the QP 4.0? Can you take a photo? And, what year or how old is the pump/skimmer? If you can find the exact model number of the pump and controller that would help immensely.

I believe the S is for Speed and the P is for Watts/power.

Take a look at this link and tell me if that is what you have and if that clears thing up for you... If it is reading F20 then that is at max power and should be operating properly at this point. Specifically, look at "Step 4" for an explanation of the display meanings.

@dwref was the link helpful?

Yes P-Dub, step four pretty much tells me what I thought was going on. Not a question, but my own opinion, why even have a controller, but maybe it will make better since if I play with it some

more.
Thank you very much for finding that, I couldn't find that paper you sent me the link to, even reached out to Skimz, they never sent me that.
anyways, here are a couple pics you asked for, but I think we have nailed it. I couldn't find a year on the controller anywhere. But since I just got it, it should be there newest, should be I say. LOL

Roger that. You do have it nailed. Happy I could help. The reason for a controller is because it is beneficial for the feed mode and allows you to tune the skimmer more accurately. Sometimes higher flow does not necessarily equate to better or more productive skimmate. Adjusting flow rates and output makes the skimmer infinitely more tuneable but not necessarily easier to tune.

BTW, you haven't introduced yourself in the Meet and Greet thread...
Never too late. Head over there and introduce yourself.

OK, gotcha on the controller. I could use a little help on tuning it in a bit better.
I thought I had already done the meet & greet, but will again!!

Thanks again for your input!!

Well, maybe I haven't, but looking now & of course, can't find it ??
