I don't remember off hand what model Skimz skimmer I have but it the pump quit working on it.

The controller still displays the green lights but nothing I do will make the pump turn on. when holding it in my hand and turning it on I don't even feel the pump even slightly move. So I am thinking it is the pump and not the power supply or controller.

From my research it looks like the Skimz simply uses a rebranded Jaebo pump which is a little disappointing considering how much I paid for this skimmer and they are using a cheaper pump. All that being said I know there are some people on here that are more knowledgeable than I on the subject.

So do you know if these are essentially the same pumps? The pump currently on the unit is a Skimz VSC5000-DC. Stats: 100-240V; 13-35 watts; air intake 900-1800L/h

Skimz - rebranded??? $220 on sale for $170 on BRS

Jaebo - would the 4000 do essentially the same thing or go with the 6000? This seems like a return pump but I was thinking maybe I can replace the pinwheel from my broken unit to make it work. They do look the same and for only $70 I don't see buy one for $100 more if they are the same.

I bought a Jebao DCT-6000 for $98 on Amazon. It was literally a plug and play replacement from the Skimz VCS5000. The only thing I had to do was take the needle wheel impeller off the broken skimz pump and put it on the Jebao. It is the same pump.
