Skimz sm121 help please (will it fit)

The height of the skimmer online says just under 21 inches. Under my 40 breeder I have 25.5 inches. Will I have enough room to take the cup off to empty it and stuff?

I don't own one but most skimmers now the separation is right below the neck. With that in mind, I assume you have the space to remove it. The other problem would be getting the skimmer body in and out for cleaning and service.
