Skin Damage or Disease Issue with Ocellaris Clown

Hi All,

Noticed this last night on the face of my clownfish, not sure if its damage from something in the tank or is it some sort of disease? I had the clown pair in observation QT with for 8 weeks with no issues and they are the only fish currently in my display with a bunch of snails, hermits, corals and shrimp.

That looks like an injury or a bite. Did this happen suddenly or gradually? Since it's the male, it's possible the female took a chunk out...

This ^^^ That is my guess.

Fluke would be possible but less likely than an injury or bite.

I will keep a close eye on it but it seemed to have just shown up yesterday (at least that’s the first time I noticed it) and really close up it looks like he has a little skin damage around the white protrusion.

Is there anything I should do to help with healing process? Or just keep and eye on it to see if it gets better or worse?

Appears to be a healing wound. Melafix should help with healing ALTHOUGH one nice thing about saltwater fish is their ability to heal and repair themselves naturally. You can watch and observe for improvement over next 24-48 hours and move forward with treatment if no change thereafter.
Assuming fish is eating normally, add vitamin such as selcon to food and garlic extract also.

Thank you. Yes I have been soaking the food in Selcon but I will get some garlic extract tomorrow. If it gets to the point of needing melafix, is that administered in qt? I have to research that a bit as I have never used before.

Safe to add to display tank as its' deemed reef safe. I treat at 80% of recommended dose

when i put my coral beauty in my tank the next day he had a scratch similar to that like he got spoooked and darted into the rock work and scratched his face it was healed within 2-3 days

I think it’ll heal naturally, assuming the fish is healthy and eating well. Adding Zoe or zoecon or vita chem to the foods may also help.

Thank you all again for your help! He has been eating really well the past few days and it looks like his wound is clearing up. I'm continuing to keep a close eye on him and hopefully it was a one off incident. Thanks again
