My chevron tang, have a whitish patch on its belly and face, I am thinking it is from getting nipped at the LFS and just an irritation. I have looked at numerous charts of disease and ailments, and i can not find one that matches it except on chart that says skin irritation, should heal on its own... I took the best picture I could. Is this something to be concerned about, Is death soon to follow, please tell me know... The tang is eating like a pig and seems really healthy. It has been rubbing against the rocks a little bit, not obsessively like i have seen fish do in the past. From my experiences the fish is behaving like a healthy fish, just has some weird whitish patches.

Uploading pictures to photobucket right now. will post them as soon as they are ready

I would like to hold judgment until I see the pics, but it sounds like a bacterial infection. When he rubs against things, is he targeting his gills or head?

I saw him rub his side, the spot where the white is on his belly on the rock once or twice, He just ate for the second time today. Was the first to come to the top to eat the coral gumbo I add when I get home from work. I'm am hoping it will clear up on it own, I do have some furan 2 on hand. Would a dip be helpful at all. I'm sure he will be extremely hard to catch. He swims very fast lol.

I'm thinking coral sting, but the potential for infection exists. I would start soaking his food with vitamin supplements (exs. Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem). But if it starts looking worse, you are going to need a QT and that Furan-2.

Also, check to see where he sleeps at night. Some fish will stubbornly sleep next to a stinging euphyllia.

sounds good, would some type of garlic additive help also? I have amazon prime so I will order some additives in the am thanks for responding so late.

IMO; Garlic is only useful to stimulate appetite. I highly doubt it is capable of boosting the immune system the way vitamins can.
