I recieved a frag a few days ago and some of the skin is peeling. Its a cali tort. Is this normal for freshly cut frags? The peeling is only at the bottom. Also the polyps are extending at the top of the frag.

I would frag asap looks like RTN. I have had some acros do this after fraging and shipping.Your chance of saving it is real low but I would try to frag it just above the white.I would not glue it down for a few weeks.

Tropoasis told our club in a lecture that he swears by SeaChem reef dip applied full strength to the affected areas.
Just dab a tiny bit on with a Q-tip and put the frag back in your tank. He said it works way better than fragging, and he loses a lot less frags that way.

it is not commond to lose ora frags/ acro frags, yes, you will loose a few from time to time, but if you are loosing all these at once something is amiss.
check alkalinity first, you seem to have enough flow for them. who/where did you get these frags?
did you glue them onto the plugs or where they shipped that way?

I got them from another reefer on RC on wed afternoon. I glued them to the discs. They actually looked like that when I got them. I just got done fragging the ora chips and cali tort. I cut right above the where the skin is peeling.

Well everything is dead except the pokerstar and the siver+blue prostrata. The pokerstar appears to be loosing color on one side. Not sure if this is rtn/stn or something else. Im getting all the frags resent after the hollidays so hopefully the next batch will survive.
