Skip Water Change?

Great! I have found over the years that astrea snail are better than turbos. Many of the turbos are colder water species and do not last long in reef temperatures, imo.

They dont seem to like the GHA when it starts to get a little longer. They def good at maintaining tho. I have a few spots where it is getting longer. So I attack it with eye lash brushes lol

Some people get to worried with algae. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t let it get out of control, but I prefer some algae. Let’s me keep a few extra critters, let’s my tangs graze throughout the day, etc.

I think your tank looks great as is. I know there has been lots of advice given. Here’s mine... If you like your current routine and it fits your life/schedule then keep it, BUT, instead of 20% start doing 10%, and see what happens over the next few months.
My main concern was bottoming nutrients...went from 10 to 2 in about 2 months. Im assuming from dosing a tad bit of vibrant, so I've stopped that. Algae is useful when it doesn't get out of control. Wish I had a yellow tang tho...but im sure that won't happen for a while. Id have to get a bigger quarentine tank, only have a 10 gallon. So hope these snails are hungry

Yes the astreas work best when the algae is short. I ran a 1/2 dose of fluconazole to kill it all then added the snails and they keep it in check.
If I see a little growth it is gone in a day or two.
Has worked very well for me as I feed 14 fish in a 120 8+ cubes a day and run 98% algae free.

Eutrophication will be greatly accelerated now, snails are opposite of export. If you're willing to physically clean the sand for true export when your tank tells you to, then the condition will start to reverse.

Snails take gha and redeposit it in the sandbed as a core part of aging and old tank syndrome, that doesn't mean that large systems can't get away with years of storage, they can

But we're finding those who intervene by hand vs purchase are the long haulers of the uninvaded when sampling work threads in the nuisance algae forum

It is very strategic to get some or most of your tank planning from deconstructing posts in the nuisance algae forum vs perfect running reefs

That tank looks great, I’d do absolutely nothing.
Watch that Vibrant....coincidentally, when I started Vibrant, I lost 90% of my coralline within two months. I stopped the dose.
It’s been 3 additional months now and the coralline is just starting to appear.

Thanks!! I noticed this pinkish powder in the corner of my tank...don't know if its my eyes and the reflection from the lights...from my understanding cyano is red, and slimy, and grows incredibly fast? Again, paranoia. Would cyano look reddish/purple with the lights off as well? Also considered this is ground up corraline...as my snails have devoured a lot of it on thr back wall of the tank :S you guys have been great!
