Are anybody's reef fish super skittish when they come up to the tank? I have a Reefer 350 with a white tail bristletooth tang, yellow tang, 3 lyretail anthias, royal gramma, and a yellow wrasse.

When I stand about 20 feet from the tank, they are all out swimming happily. As soon as I step a couple feet closer, everybody hides.

I hand feed about every other day and they get fed every day by my auto feeder. Every body is fat and healthy.

How can I get them to be more comfortable when people are around?

I had a similar problem.... had autofeeder on 2 times a day and I would hand feed like you randomly. hand feeding daily seemed to change the behavior, once they associate you with the food source and not the feeder they will be like puppies!

I usually get my fish people trained in quarantine. They learn the food ritual and rush to the side of the tank.

In the display, they do the same. They also seem to distiguish other actions. Testing they ignore. Blowing rocks and sand is everybody hide. Food is everybody to where the food comes in. My wife claims that they hide from her.
