Black spots develope when they molt. Let him do his thing and keep lights low

Oh really? Ok good to know! I was worried cause I’ve had other bacterial issues and I haven’t noticed this in shrimp before

They can get spots for a few different reasons bad water quality, old age(harder for them to molt), just the molting process, bacterial infection, or physical damage it's hard to know for sure best just to keep eye on it see if it's gets worse or if he just molts it and it goes away

How long should the molt last? I assume if it’s still there in the morning I should be concerned?

This can be due to multiple things - the key thing to perhaps realize - is that their life expectancy is short - If you buy an adult - it might be a mistake from the longevity standpoint. There are multiple potential issues - from benign to bacterial

Not really unless you see unusual behavior. Assure your temp and salinity are not elevated and you have sufficient calcium level (400-450) which they need for skeletal health.
