My cleaner shrimp are spawning pretty often, twice a month i see a thousand little shrimplets getting blown around. Have people had success breeding them? I caught a few with my coral feeding squirt bottle and threw them in my filter sock, maybe they will survive. Im thinking not, but just curious dont they require special feeding

There should be some helpful information in this recent thread... i imagine cleaner shrimp are similar in rearing to peppermint shrimp...

Hope it helps.

lucky you!!! why would you put them in the filter sock? they are eating and cleaning your corals. don't you have a small clear box for your tank that you would put fish in when your introducing fish to the tank like a breeder box that hangs in your tank. that would keep them safe but if they are in the corals they are stable and eating.. they will be beat by water in the socks and die

They usually dont last a day after the cleaner shrimp spawns. I dont clean my filter socks often so i though they would have a good chance at surviving in there eating all the fine food that gets traps there. Never know, also the two cleaner in my 29g wreck enough havoc stealing the coral food. Imagine having a hundred running around :). But they are cleaning my fish daily so thats nice.

you can sell them. i'm on back order for them cant find them anywhere. my last one died after all these years my fish are looking for him every day i have a 180 gal. tank and my fish are large and i feel so bad they keep looking in the cave area where he hung out. its like a car wash the fish line up to be cleaned.. its so cool.. i ordered 4 of them but they are on back order. my local fish places dont have them either. i think its great you get spawns . local aquarium shops trade i bring in coral frags when i have to much and trade them for new ones . I would set up a small tank just for them and sell or trade. of course that how I started with a 20 gal tank then a 55 gal tank then a 60 gal tank then I said screw it I will get a 180 gal tank and put all the tanks in one.. now my fish and coral are really big . now i want a 350 gal . L.O.L.
