So the tank got wet around November of 2013 but I only recently got some livestock in there, this is my first SW tank and I feel that it is going really well right now and I am really enjoying it. Feel free to chime in with what you think and if you have suggestions I would love to hear them! I am using chaeto for filtration along with the LR and am primarily going to stick to just a good WC schedule instead of a lot of chemical filtration. Just want to make it simple as possilbe

Specs:

PicO III (approx. 20 gallons)
Koralia 240
Nanobox Duo (absolutely awesome light, and great customer service)
stock return pump
I would say about 15lbs of LR
20 lbs of Fiji Pink sand
Tunze Nano ATO

Stocking list:

Green Clown Goby
1x Orange ric
1x blue ric
1x green ric
Rock flower nem
2x zoa frag (don't know name)
1x zoa (don't know name)

and that's it for now, I am looking for some recommendations for some coral for the sand bed but without further ado here are some pics...

This is when I first got the light over the tank.

Nanobox Duo (freakin' awesome)

Blue ric

Orange and green ric

Zoa's I don't know the name of

Another zoa I don't know the name of

Most current FTS (sorry iPhone pic) this was before I glued down any of the corals, as you can tell things have changed a bit.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my tank, hope you guys like.

Looks really nice!! :)

Thanks! I am gone for the majority of the rest of the month and then hopefully moving. Once I get back i plan on placing a pretty big order in. I want to get a plate coral for the sand bed and then some nice zoas and some new rics and probably a couple new rock flower nems. I have one in the tank now but it dissapeared (hiding in the rock ATM) but really want to have a few of those. I also will probably get a frogspawn or a torch as well.

Love this nano so far!

So I had one of my SPS pieces completely bleach on my, the one in the pictures mounted on the frag sideways, it was called tenuous at the store I got it. I believe I didn't acclimate correctly to my lights and I was pretty amazed and how fast it bleached. As you can see I only have the 2 SPS pieces as you can see and was wondering if I am correct as to believing that it was due to light acclimation or if it could have been something else. I honestly might have jumped the gun with getting a second SPS piece without doing enough research first which I am regretting now because I really liked the newest addition. I have read that it is not necessarily dead so I have yet to remove it from my tank but I am honestly not too positive so I am definitely looking for input here. Thank you for stopping by and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Before

After

After looking at it closer it not longer is showing and PE so I think at this point it is a goner, so will probably be pulling it out soon unless someone tells me other wise

That's a goner man I'm sorry :/

Start things on the sand bed and work then up over time if the light was the cause of it

Ya I kinda figured, I am not positive it was the light but it is very possible. I guess I got a little too confident after getting the first piece and having it be fine after starting it up top and that was with my lights cranked up pretty high. Thanks for letting me know though. Gonna be doing more research on SPS before I get any more.

Acros can be tough, sorry, but a lot of the rest of the stuff looks great, the tank is still pretty new, SPS needs stability, and that can be more difficult with a smaller water volume like this, just do some research, give it some time, and you will get there.

Ya I jumped the gun a bit on the acro and will definitely be doing more research in the future and also making sure my water params are up to par to keep these awesome corals. I definitely do not like losing such awesome pieces.

I also noticed this guy today, pretty amazed I had not spotted him before and I am not sure if I should take it out or not.

Also have this weird white stuff growing in a couple different places in my tank and am completely unsure of what it is so any help is greatly appreciated.

My best bet would to take it out in my opinion. You cannot tell whether or not that starfish is good or bad. I had tons of Astera Starfish (very similar to that) that nibbled relentlessly on my zoos and plays.

As for whats growing underneath your ricordea that harmless. Just an indication of how well your tank is coming along.
