I just added a small diamond goby to my 15g with a 2" Fiji pink sand bed. I run a nutrient rich tank with pellet, frozen, reef roids and phyto. My nitrates and phos stay at .5 nitrate and .025 phos. By Fluval test kits. Since adding the goby I've noticed him hitting the edge of rocks and digging up some grunge. And my phosphate has hit 1.0. Should I be concerned? Everything looks fantastic. Would his digging have caused a momentary spike? I just did a 3 gal water change on weds and everything else it spot on. Just the elevated phos.

I've never heard of a fluval phosphate test kit. It seems like your test goes from 0 to .25 to .5?
You will need a better test kit, something that can measure in between 0 and .25 . I would disregard the result and not worry until you test with a better quality tester. Personally, I like the hanna testers, salifert also has good reviews

This I'm reading 1.0 on

You went from 0.025 to 1.0…..that’s huge….I don’t believe your fish did that….Iam not sure I’d even believe that number.

I don’t see .5 nitrate and 0.025 as nutrient rich, rather, that’s nutrient poor IMM.

When everything looks great….DONT TOUCH THAT

Some test are just useless

For a 15 gal as much as I put in it its rich. I dose 15ml phyto daily to feed my pods. I feed 2x a day with a marine blend, pellets and every other day reef roids and an algea wafer. I couldn't put much more in. I had to work to get my phosphates to .025. And it held steady until from Weds-sat. Then the jump. Fish is the only difference in the tank.

Stop the reef roids, they are the source of your po4 problem for sure.

I've heard that but been using them for 8 weeks. Wasn't until I started that I had any detectable phos. And it's never gone above .025. Until now. Everything I'm doing I've been doing. Except I've increased the phyto from 5ml a day to 15.
