Hi all.

So I have been cycling my E260 since the first week of October 2019.

I have been very patient in letting things happen naturally. I introduced a CUC about 3 weeks ago but am still letting the tank run as my Phosphate was very high. Purchased a reactor for Rowaphos 2 weeks ago and it's doing its job as the phosphate is down to 0.125. Still too high but it should be down to acceptable levels in a couple of weeks I imagine.

I'm finding that my water is partially cloudy and wondered if this is to be expected or if there is something I could do now to clear the water? At the moment I am running some carbon in the rear media rack. Should I change the carbon every other week? It is worth me adding something else to the rack at this stage or should I just let the tank develop?

I did add some additional new sand about 2 weeks ago maybe that is a factor? It was cleaned beforehand though.

You could be experiencing a little Bacterial bloom. I found running a UV sterilizer for a few days clears it. I just bought a cheap one. It was a green machine from petco did the trick in 2 days. Don’t need the big expensive ones for bacterial blooms. Additionally I would watch to see if you are getting any ammonia spikes.

Yes I do have a skimmer in the rear sump. Have not been adding nopox

I wouldn't worry about it if you don't have any fish or such in there. Usually I see this when something big dies or when someone is carbon dosing. Not sure what caused it but I wouldn't be too worried right now as long as you ammonia is going down :)

I can see fine white particles in the water so I don't think it's a bacterial bloom. I may just go ahead and put in some filter wool in my media rack as the most online info suggests it will help.
