Hey All, I’ve been working on my new tank for the past year and I’ve had a rough couple months so it went into hiatus for a bit. Before this, I had leveled the tank perfectly, so I went ahead and finished the tank this week and started to fill the tank up. After being completely filled, I had noticed that the water level had a roughly 3/8” difference from one end to the other. The front to back level is still perfect. I’m chalking it up to be caused by the stand and tank settling as it sits on carpet. Should I be worried? Picture is attached.

the sub flooring is solid concrete as the tank is situated in the basement.

You wont notice once you have wave makers moving your water around

You should fix it in my opinion. I doubt it would cause any major problems but for me personally it would drive me insane everytime I saw it.
Granted that stuff never bothers me and I built the stand with a safety factor of four. So in theory it can withstand about 12k lbs of force. I’m more concerned on if it will affect the seal of the tank.

I had the same problem and it drove me nuts every time I looked at the tank. I purchased composite shims and drove them in between the floor and the stand

As long as the stand is fully supported along the floor and the tank is flat against the stand all the way around the bottom rim, your seals will be fine. If it bothers you, then shim the stand, but you need to make sure it is supported from the floor/shim at each corner and each upright in-between. You can actually make the situation worse if it is not shimmed properly.
