Slime Algae??

There is some kind of thin brown hairy like formation on rocks, the marine tank is about 3 months old after cycling. Can someone advise what it might be and should I wash and scrub it off? Thanks

Thanks. I will try to get rid of them by scrubbing. Should I do a mild bleach and a one week cooking of rocks? I lost couple of fishes Damsel and blue botch last week, but checked levels and everything is fine, not sure if it's due to Chrysostom or ich or velvet

You can scrub and use a bit of peroxide in the water. It’ll kill less of the bacteria.
Do keep perhaps a bit of bottled bacteria as it’s a new tank and you don’t want to kill off the cycle.

I used paracidol for 3 days and the chrystophytes is completely gone. I am planning to continue for another 2 doses before making a 30% water change. Thanks for your help

Do use extreme caution with that as it is copper based.
