My toadstool has not opened in two days and now it looks "slimey". What is wrong? What am I doing wrong? I had some Kenya trees awhile back and they died? I have three little colonies of zoas that are thriving (I see more and more heads each week)... Is it a lighting problem? I have the 48" Current Orbit LED my lfs said it would do the job....starting to think i might have got got. Any ideas?
Please someone help me before I just give up.....

I took the pic to post it with this and....didn't lol

But....that is what was told about my Kenya trees and they ended up turning brown and kinda dissolving....

What kind of flow do you have on it? You could bring your salinity up a tad but it isn't off enough to hurt anything. Do you know what happened to the Kenya trees. They are pretty hardy. Very odd that they would die.

To kill a Kenya tree something is off. Not sure what it is from what you posted.

Are you dosing anything to the tank?

No just doing a 10% percent WC every weekend....Idk what happened to the Kenya trees..... someone suggest my lights weren't strong enough?...but I have no idea...

No i dont think that is it. I have Kenya trees growing in almost complete darkness. They don't thrive there but don't die either. Do you have any crabs or shrimp?

It could have just been an infection. How long did you have the Kenya tree and was it a freshly cut or dropped frag?

The toadstool looks very healthy to me. There are no areas of discoloration or holes. I would just make sure there is a gentle flow of water across it to help with the shed.

OK will do. I just got it about a week ago and now its doing this so kinda worried...

My Toadstool did the same thing. It closed up for 3 days and then had a slime coat on top and today it finally opened. I had no idea what it was doing. Glad to know it was just shedding.
