Slowing zoa growth

Has anyone slowed down zoa spread by covering some with Kalk paste or F-aptasia? I have some that are taking over the same rock that I have some purple monsters on and would like to slow them down some to give the purples time to grow out some.excuse my saturated pic...

Its sounds like a great problem to have id say try to cut some of the rock and sell them.

Can you add tiles or plugs between the two and take up the plugs as the fast growers cover them?

actually i do have a bag of ceramic frag discs and that a great idea, may try that this evening.

these have been in my tank since i started it, about 3 years ago, i had them on a rock by themselves and my blenny knocked one loose and it floated to this rock and landed and took off like weeds..i wish my purple monsters would grow like these do.

Those palys eventually took over that rock and I had to get rid of it before they escaped to the rest of the tank
