Smacked me a LionFish

This is How it Worked out.
It Burned like heck.

Stung Me 6 Times!
So if you ever feel the Need to Smack one here is what to do After the Fact
1-Scream Like Heck!Make It Count!
2-While Screaming Run your butt to the nearest Hot Water Faucet and Run the Hottest water you can stand over the Punctured Area.Hot water helps Deactivate the Vemon.Venom Needs the cold water.
3-Stand there for 30-45 minutes, all the while Screaming in a whining sort of way and boderline scalding the already Burning from the Inside Wound.Remove When Burning is Tolerable.
4-For the next 24-48 Hours expect to feel the Vemon coursing through the body along with some Blisters and then lets add some Redness to Highlight the Swelling.

So Kids what have WE learned?
1-DON'T SMACK THE LIONFISH
2-DON'T SMACK THE LIONFISH
3-DON'T SMACK THE LIONFISH

So in all seriousness This is what Posion Control will tell you to do.So now you Know.
If you have allergic Reactions to bee stings DO NOT own this fish or if you phyiscally put your hand in your tank.Please. Could be Deadly.No Fish is Worth Yor Life.

That sucks!!!!...... I was stung by a dwarf lion years ago... It was under a rock and went to pick up the rock and stuck my self...Hurt like hell....It seems like you got it 100 times worse than I did though..

Wow I always thought the venom was much stronger like rattlesnake strong, good to know it isn't too bad. Now how bad is a foxface in comparison?

I had two lions in a 75 and always had my gf as a spotter to tell me if one was getting close when I was fragging or what not.
Now that I moved everyone but the lions its going to be a poison only reef tank(not much for fragging anyways lol)

I've had the hard reality of smacking at a lion fish to get it away from some live feeder fish that I accidentally dropped once. I pushed away the lion fish two or three times in an effort to feed the toad fish hiding out in the rock work. The lion fish didn't smack me back until the 4th or 5th time I pushed it away. I called my roommate whose first response was, "Cool!!!" Then gave me the same advise as above with the hot water. I tried that then called him back when I saw a dark streak running up from my finger to my hand. He was about two hours away. I drove myself to the hospital. Meanwhile my hand started to inflate to Mickey Mouse size proportions. The doctor told me he had to call a doctor friend in NC to figure out what to do. Basically he said he was giving me the biggest Demerol shot that he had ever given before. They then took me for xrays where there found a small piece of the stinger in my finger. Easily removed but could have been real bad.

Needless to say, I don't own a lion fish now that I have my own tank. They are serious... And they will smack you back. And the pain... Wow. Good lesson to learn for me, don't mess with our aggressive tank friends in their home... if you drop a feeder fish, put another one in, it isn't worth it.
