Are any of those 5-10 gallon self contained tanks actually quiet enough to have in a bedroom? I have a 150 and with the I have extra live sand and love rock. so I was gonna make a tank for a bedroom but it has to be quiet.

My FW planted method uses no pumps and no flowing water. It is basically the tank, plants, fish, and lights. Obviously very quiet and has ran for up to 9 years with no water changes and descendants for the original cycle fish.

You might want to consider a similar marine system using macro algae.
