small black dot what the h.. ? !

hi guys so while ago i was looking on this creature and notice that small black dot in picture left corne is moving so im just wondering what is that ?!

no it was on piece of CoraFix glue!

Do you have Acros in the tank? If so I would check them all very closely. I've been reading about black bugs here and they are nasty little bugs that are difficult to eradicate. Not saying that is what that little spot is for certain. Calling #reefsquad for help.

Could be a Isopod but the color is throwing me off.
There was a time that we saw a lot black spiders appearances but not so much anymore,
IMO I would dip your corals in a Bayer solution to see if it comes off or have more.

That's a copepod. I can't tell anything more about it then that, though. There are good ones of this variety and there are bad.

Can you see them on your coral at all? If you can, would you be able to snap a picture?

no u can't really see them with your eye i notice it moving only when used my digital microscope !!

I honestly don't know if there's a montipora specific copepod parasite. SPS people? What have you heard/experienced?
