Does anyone know what this small black spot near my salfins mouth could be? It's the only spot I can see on him. The fish has been in the tank for about 6 months now and is energetic and eating normally. I just noticed this this morning and have never seen something like this before. No other fish shows anything, and nothing new has been added for about a month.

With apologies - were I looking at this fish I would say 'I don't see anything'. Could you post a picture with an arrow pointing at what you're concerned about>. If it is what I think you're looking at - I would not worry, given the behavior and health of the fish as you described it.

Pic is a little dark but can be bristles from a bristleworm or post scrapes. Pics best under white light intensity

I see what you’re talking about, not “dark” area but light area. Mine don’t have that.

Who’s else in your system?
A minor nip?

Doesn’t look overly menacing.

But keep watch.
