Howdy reefers,
I'm looking for some information on these small creatures I noticed on my aquarium glass. I am familiar with Pods but I haven't seen this type before. Any thoughts? I'd love to do some more research.

I'm specifically referring to the bugs with a 'V' shape rear end.

Thank you kindly in advance.

Amphipod? Maybe, just a guess. hard to see the little guys. 7B72ADEC-3E84-47BC-9569-8349B8DF6B9D.jpeg

I had some of them for a bit as well. From what I could tell they are flat worms. I started dosing KZ flatworm for my acros and they have disappeared now since I’ve been dosing.

Can you get a closer image of them?

Can you get a closer image of them?

This is a bit closer. Hopefully that helps.

They don't look red in color but they do look like some type of white flatworm. My Six Line doesn't seem to show any interest and I'd rather not dose anything if possible. However, I plan on getting Acros in the near future so I'd rather deal with it now. I assume they are eating the algae off the glass but like I said, It's the first time I've noticed them.

I don't see them on any of my corals after inspecting them with a flashlight..

Looks very similar. Did you notice them on your coral? I used a flashlight and only found them on the glass.

Looks like planaria flatworm. Generally harmless, but can be invasive if left unchecked and can crawl on coral

Thank you. I will keep a close eye on them over the next few days.

What would you recommend for keeping them in check?
If you want to try to get rid of them completely, I’ve used Flatworm Exit with decent success but requires multiple doses.

If you don’t mind them but don’t want them taking over, Springer Damsels and many wrasses (mainly in the Halichoeres genus will usually eat them. Note the wrasses may pick at other inverts and snails in the tank.

I never saw them on my coral just the glass, but I intended on dosing kz flatworm anyway for the side effects it has on acros. Since then I have not seen any. It’s spendy but then again so is all of there stuff.

Ah, yes.
Disregard my other post. These are definitely flatworms and not isopods.
