Hi All,
I recently got this small frag for the Zoanthids it contained. When I got home I realized that 3 small clams were growing on the frag with diameters of about 1cm (the third is in the background kind of out of focus). I can't find any information on clams this size so I am not sure how to properly care for them. They seem to be doing fine in the tank (they've been in there about 3 days). Any advice about these would be very much appreciated.

I agree they are a very lucky hitch hicker to get. I just really don't want to hurt them because I don't know how to care for them.

First thing you need is for someone to ID the type of clams you have there.
If they are photosynthetic, then good lighting is all you need to give them.
If they are not and they are 100% filter feeders, then you are probably going to need to start feeding them. Hopefully who ever IDs them can tell you what to feed them.

This is so cool! It would be so cool if those are maximas!
@skinz78 Maybe you can provide some insight?

I'm glad everybody thinks they are so cool. I am slightly obsessed with them now and I'm really worried I am not taking care of them correctly. So any advice would help!!

In the mean time, here are some new pictures which might help.

What do you feed your tank? Do you do any small particle coral foods?

Currently I am not feeding them anything because they seem happy. However, I am considering adding phytoplankton to the tank. Here is a new picture of the clams. They, along with the zoanthids attached to the same frag, are doing great and opening up really nice. Also, I have found 2 addition clams on this frag. That makes a total of 5!!
