i have had all my corals for at least 8 months and they have been in my frag system or quarantine until last week. I noticed I have a few of these flower looking things irritating a couple of my zoas and they are also on the base of my tort.

What are they, should they be removed?

I can’t get good pictures but I have short videos that apparently aren’t supported .mov files

Does it look plushy or stoney? Kinda looks like blasto, favia or acan to me. Hard to tell in the pic.

It’s none of those. I just zoomed in on the item in question. It’s on the bottom of my blue tort.

They look like Aiptasia Anemones! If so...they gotta go! Bad news as they will sting corals and reproduce prolifically!

Could be dusters or aptasia .hard to rell with pic. If you want to post a vid upload to you tube first and then copy paste link here.

I’ll see if that works, YouTube is saying “asset not readable”

I am confident it’s not aiptasia by the way it acts. There are 6-8 that are all the size of a small zoo and they have a center to them.
There is almost a petal like structure opposed to this whisky arms

Feather dusters...
Thank you, I’m relieved it’s not something bad.
I had never seen them this shape. I have only seen coco worms, tube worms and the larger ornate feather dusters.
Is there anyway to get rid of the ones that are annoying my zoas?

Those are a cool variety. If you want to remove them if you can find the tube you can relocate the whole worm to.somewhere more desirable. If not you could glue or epoxy their hole. If your lucky theyll move somewhere else instead of dying cause they really are neat little filter feeders.

Thank you very much.
I’m happy to leave them on the bottom of my tort because they do look cool.
I just have to get rid of the ones in my zoas because half the colony won’t open.
