So I recently setup a tank I had, its a 25gal Clarity plus flat back hex. The return pump I was using prior was a maxijet 1200, which I think is rated a 295gal max. In an effort to increase water flow I thought I would replace it with a Jabeo DCS 2000, which is rated at about 500gal.
So I received the pump went to install it and the footprint is slightly larger. I was able to get it up and running, but the pump is wedged in such a way that its riding on the side walls creating a hum noise.

Needless to say its driving the household crazy so I am forced to look for alternate pumps. So I am looking for suggestions on a small footprint pump with super power. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Can you wedge it in with a silicone cooking pad on each side? That could eliminate the hum at very little cost.
