all along my glass, notably in high-flow areas, there are swathes of these small hydroid looking things that sway in the flow. but they are tiny. i can barely see them and can't get a photo. they almost look like a tiny version of a freshwater hydra. they are as small as copepods but they seem to be transparent or opaque.

had anybody had a similar experience?

How old is aquarium? I haven't had any hydriods after 6 months of tank age. But sound like medusa hydriods.

Also search digtate hydriods. They are thin and string like.

definitely not medusa hydroids. they are way smaller than those. also shorter than digitate hydroids. but it kind of looks like a tiny hydroid so i think you're on the right track.
