Im looking to find some live rock for my tank, but theres not too much space left and most sellers have rocks that are pretty huge for my size of tank (15gals). I don't really have the stuff on hand to break up the liverock without drying it out (defeating the whole point) or making it look like crap.

By a large peice towel and hammer. If you want to shape some of them grab a chisel/flat head screwdriver.

Your over thinking it.

Salty Bottom Reef Company sometimes sells fist-size Live Rubble per pound; you can request specific shapes and sizes:

Obviously ordering some small pieces from an aquaculture vendor is best but you can also buy wild collected or aquacultured corals from the pacific at the LFS that came in attached to nice little chunks of pacific live rock.
