So I got an order from algae barn for pods and put them in my new tank weeks ago and the tank is loaded with pods now!! Brand new Red Sea reefer 625XXL. So today I have about a 100 plus of these small looking stars. Small circular body and thin legs 4 to 5 of them. Tried taking a pic and they are super small and it wouldn’t show up. They are the size of small pods and look just like a speck unless you get close and look. Any ideas? I used dry Pukani rock that I bleached and acid washed so they didn’t come from there

Do they look like this?

If so they are hydroid jellyfish.

That was my guess as well.....Medusa Hydroids.

Your common hitchhiker starfish are Asterina and Mini Brittle Stars....but both these sound too big for what you're explaining. The Asterinas are typically about 1/4 - 3/8 inch, while the mini stars are in the area of a inch of so wide.

So again, agree with @ReefQueen , Medusa Hydroids. HERE's a link to Lionfish Lair's site about these guys.

Those look like them with a few less “legs”. Awesome thanks for the help! Yes red fish bluefish they are way too small to be the other stars. Next question is are they good?

It's my understanding that it's more or less a phase, and they will eventually disappear....faster with less feeding and good water quality.
