I have some overflow questions, and would be grateful for some advice. I'm planning an overflow across the full length of the (glass) tank, and an external box siliconed on the side. Bean-animal in the box. I've seen mainly that people drill holes between the tank and the box.
My thinking is that I could just have a small cutout at the top of the glass to let water flow between the aquarium and the box.
Also: I mainly see large overflows on pictures. Can I do a small overflow?
Either an L shape 1 inch x 1 inch or a 45 degree 1.5 inch? Any advantage/problems? 45 or L, which is best?
And finally, is there a minimum distance between the top rim of the aquarium and the highest point of the overflow? 1/2 inch enough?
Or with a 45 degree angle
