Looking for a powerful and compact powerhead for my 12gal. Something that would not create a lot of heat and does not take up a lot of space. Any suggestions?

I use the 12v D.C. Pumps like this.
Like $3 on eBay.

They come with no external screws so reef safe.
Tucks into a corner pretty well.

Depending on your setup and aquascape you may need more flow than you think. I have a 10 gallon with no skimmer and I run a Hydor 425 and a Hydor 240. One is pointed toward the water surface and the other towards the back where I needed additional flow.

Very true. That's is why I asked for a good recommendation on a powerhead that would not take up too much room. I think the flow I have now is not adequate.

Would this be a good option to create flow in a 10g QT setup in place of a powerhead? Looking for options For a 20g and 10g ST setup... thinking of just using the 20g for corals and possibly invert quarantine and the 10g for single small fish quarantine.
Yea should be ok. A couple of those and a HOB
