I guess it depends on how you define a reef and if you feel tubeworms are an inherent part of one. I would SO keep the slugs over the tubeworms. Tubeworms are a dime a dozen.

I guess that depends if you want to keep feather dusters or not.. I have a ton of smaller encrusting worms.
I do have 1 feather duster that popped up on a frag, though I've not seen anything on it.(yet? hehe)
Maybe I'll introduce some more to see if they'll populate more. Only 1 I've seen so far, might have seen a 2nd earlier though. They're so small, lol, the ones I'm seeing are like 1-2mm...

I've never seen more than a few in someone's tank. They were never permanent and seemed to be a fleeting guest. I haven't run across anything yet that says they will eat sessile snails.

I have the worst spirorbid problem. Actually have 6-line in QT right now trying to solve this. Recently researched Vayssierea Felis but no one ever seems to have a way to buy or obtain them. Maybe nature is solving my problem for me lol. I’d be so happy if what I have is also really a Vayssierea. What are the odds lol? I’ve had massive spirorbid worms for 3-6 months? Just now seeing this red guy. Added some pics of him and my spirorbid worm problem. He’s much more BRIGHT red than pics show.

Btw if mine really are Vayssierea Felis, if they thrive and breed feeding on my millions of spirorbid worms, I will gladly send some to fellow reefers. I have been battling these spirorbid for so long. I know the pain. If I solve my problem I’ll help others to solve theirs

So I ended up stopping feeding so much Reef Roids, and my Spirorbid problem basically completely went away few months ago. Oddly though I notice I have a lot more of these red slugs. I don't think I have new Spirorbid worms growing because surfaces I clean like glass, and back glass have zero worms. I have a bunch of what I think are old shells of the worms on rocks, just because those will last until something scrapes them off. I wonder what these slugs are eatting. They're multiplying and seeing quite a bit lately. I wonder if they eat Cyano, Dinos, or Diatoms, which I have low levels of each, but decent amount of Cyano in refugium only, and that's where I see these guys the most.
