Small reef..

I love my little IM14 peninsula. It's only been up a short while (no fish yet) but I got The Package from Tampa Bay Saltwater and - wow! I love sitting and looking at it. [everything in the tank so far came with The Package]

Welcome to Hitchhiker's Cove.

thanks! really great idea

I have one too in my back chamber! Pods like crazy. Light it all night opposite the displays schedule by just bending my gooseneck back to the back chamber.

1/2 gallon. Sealed but removable lid. Zero evaporation, the first non top off reef.

Sweet reef!

Here's my 10 gallon work in progress. Running just an hob filter and a couple power heads. Best image I could get on my phone.

Nice start!

This was my 8 gallon reef. So, yes you can have a beautiful, healthy small reef! It was a great tank to learn the ins and outs with also.

Absolutely lovely.I like your variety.

I have had this 5 gallon tank for about three years now.I have been moving corals and fish in and out it ever since.I currently have 13 different types of corals growing inside.I use carbon dosing and chaetomorpha as the primary nutrient controls. The lighting is a 23WATT compact fluorescent bulb.
Right now the baby seahorses are growing up in this tank.I will have to relocate them soon.

On a more reefy note.. how big a difference you think it will be if I bump up to a 20 gal instead of a 10? Still considered a nano correct? I ask because I have someone that is gonna give me the tank and the stand for free

Yes they are. I bought one that was probably 1" in diameter back in December. Now I have 5. The smallest is about the size of my original and the largest is probably 4-5" across.

I would say anything smaller than 40 breeder is nano.
20G definitely nano. 29G biocubes are probably most popular nano,

It will be easier to maintain long term. You will also have more space for stacking corals and more options in terms of fish or inverts.

Hey guys the tank in gonna use for the mini reef is actually a 20 gallon long. 30 long by 12 wide.. so I was wonder what you thoughts are on this little external fuge idea..

Give me your honest opinions, I think it will work pretty well actually.
