Hello all

I found a small scratch about the width of my pinky on my max e170 glass tank. I was wondering if anyone has had success removing small scratches and with what product? Mine is on the dry side of my aquarium, but if I still need to empty the tank to fix this then I'd probably just let it be.

Any thoughts?

Test the scratch you want to fix by trying to put your fingernail into it. If your nail fits, even partly, the mark is likely too bad for you to repair. One method is to use toothpaste.
  • You don’t need a toothbrush for removing scratches from glass, but a small dab of toothpaste/baking soda may help. Use the non-gel white kind. One that contains baking soda would be best
  • Apply the paste to a soft rag
  • Gently rub the scratched area, checking to see your progress
  • Repeat the process until the scratch can no longer be seen
  • When you’re done, wipe the extra toothpaste off the glass

Tooth paste and baking soda. Buff it in a circle motion it work on the inside. Not sure if it will leave a dull spot on the outside.

It’s removable, just hours and hours of time and patience. Check out my reply.
Thank you for your help. I'm going to pretend its not there until it really starts to bother me again :D
